The Wilson Center Internship Program offers a wide range of opportunities for students of varying academic backgrounds. Interns will gain knowledge and experience in numerous areas, including customer relations, strategic communication, and event management.
Under the supervision of highly qualified staff, interns will have the opportunity to work in the following areas: Community Engagement, Operations, Marketing, Technical Production, and Ticket Central. Internships will be tailored to fit the particular interests of the intern, and hands-on opportunities will be given to allow interns to experience all aspects of the Wilson Center.
Please note: this is an unpaid internship, students must be seeking academic credit to apply.
Fall/Spring interns are expected to work 8-10 hours per week, Summer interns are expected to work 15-20 hours per week, depending on schedule.
Three (3) or six (6) hours of academic credit may be received for this internship. Students should check with their academic departments for eligibility. Internship hours include some evening and weekend commitments; fulfill other assigned duties; preferred participation in staff training.

Goals include assisting with the implementation and documentation of community engagement activities. In addition, the intern will assist the marketing and graphic design supervisors in the development of promotional materials for community dance residencies and photograph residency activities. The intern will learn how the CFCC Foundation, the 501(c)(3) fundraising arm of the college and Wilson Center operate in tandem.

Intern will gain knowledge and experience assisting with the coordination and promotion of the Wilson Center’s programming through traditional media and new media platforms. Primary focus on developing skills necessary for creation and distribution of marketing materials surrounding the Center’s events, planning and execution of events as well as crossover projects designed to enhance the visibility on the local and national scale as a premier venue for the performing arts and education. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud is encouraged, but not required.

Interns will learn the process of production efforts for the Wilson Center—primarily concerning, but not limited to, Artist Services, Concessions, Event Support, and Front of House logistics. Intern will assist with the archival process for contracts, as well as the rental contract process. This is truly a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to run an event at a performing arts venue.

Intern will learn skills necessary in assisting with the execution of technical support for the Center’s events, including but not limited to pre-production, venue preparation and maintenance, and performance. Areas of technical production include props, hair/makeup, wardrobe, sound, lighting, stage managing, and more.

Intern will learn skills necessary to assist in providing college event ticketing services; processing ticket orders, data management, working with marketing to assess needs based on ticket sales, providing guests with event and college information, and offering a hospitable, dynamic, professional, and efficient guest experience in the ticketing process. Experience with web design and computer science encouraged. Interns will also learn about the connections between ticketing and marketing strategy for the Center as a whole.
