The Wilson Center at Cape Fear Community College is committed to your safety, and is following all the guidelines set forth by state and local health officials. Please review our Guidelines For Returning to the Center for more information regarding our new health and safety procedures.
On this map , we’ve highlighted the three safest and most common ways to arrive at the Center: via Front St., via Brunswick St., and via Red Cross St. If you will be parking in the Hanover Street Student Parking Deck, you can use any of the three approaches. If, however, you will be parking in the Student Surface Lot behind the Wilson Center, you will not be able to arrive via Red Cross St.
Under no circumstances are drivers permitted to stop on 3rd Street (the red area on the map) in order to drop off or discharge passengers. This is considered to be impeding traffic and may result in a state citation from law enforcement.
If you have accessibility needs, or need special accommodation for yourself or a member of your party, please consult our Accessibility page.
The Evolv Edge system, by Evolv Technology , is a fully automated physical threat detection and prevention system powered by artificial intelligence. It is being implemented at the Wilson Center in order to maximize the safety and security of our guests, artists, students, volunteers and staff.
The system detects both metallic and non-metallic threats concealed on an individual, including fully non-metallic explosives, using multiple sensor modalities. This level of security has prompted venues such as Lincoln Center, Sydney Opera House and The Biltmore to implement Evolv as a part of their security systems. We are proud to be able to enhance the safety and security of the Wilson Center with Evolv.
